Market commentary
Let’s call today our Happy Anniversary as one year ago the DOW closed at 6547, and today the DOW is trading at 10572---what a difference a year makes! And you will be happy to know that China renewed its commitment to the U.S. Treasury market, but said it would be wary of substantially boosting its gold holdings. I guess when your country is the largest producer of gold in the world you can say things like this.
So, for me, the first test of China’s renewed commitment to the U.S. Treasury market comes today, as the Treasury auctions $40 billion of 3 year notes.
Mortgage bonds are better I price this morning by .125% to .25%. Don’t let this slip away.
